Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem will be released on Windows PC and Mac on November 19, 2019. The game will be released later this year so players will be able to find out then. However, the two may end up being friends or allies if Mei can help Nancy with her investigation and if Nancy’s work helps to get the townspeople off of Mei’s back. In the teaser trailer, Mei wasn’t very friendly with Nancy but the investigator is known for getting involved in peoples’ business so it’s not surprising that Mei would be unhappy. What’s less clear is whether Mei will be a friend or an enemy to Nancy. Her new character design (from what we’ve seen of it) seems to suggest that her albinism is still the reason for the mistreatment. When Mei Parris was revealed, Her Interactive said that the character was treated unfairly by people in Salem because she is albino. Mei Parry is a new version of a character called Mei Parris who was announced several years ago when Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem was first announced. The bio says that Mei has spent her “young life pulled between two extremes – the near-crushing protective attention of her parents and sister Teegan, and the cruel gazes and whispers by the local townsfolk.” Mei is the character that we see and hear from (for a moment) in the new teaser trailer for the game.
